Last night was the final night of our Financial Peace University Class. I told you all that you WOULD NOT BELIEVE how much debt we were able to pay off during the 13 week course, and as promised, I am going to make that dollar amount public knowledge. I am not doing this because I feel like we need a pat on the back or recognition for what we were able to accomplish. I am simply posting this number so that everyone can see how amazing this class is and what you can accomplish by simply following Dave's seven baby steps:
1 - Put $1000 in an Emergency Fund
2- Pay off All Debt Using the Debt Snowball
3- Put 3-6 Months Expenses in an Emergency Fund
4- Invest 15% of your Income into IRAs and Retirement Plans
5- Save for your Children's College Educations
6- Pay Off Your Home Early
7- Build Wealth and GIVE!!!
I STRONGLY encourage everyone to pick up one of Dave Ramsey's books (you can get one on Amazon for $2-3) and if you are ready to change your life forever, enroll in Financial Peace University NOW!!! The next class at Prairie Lakes Church starts on June 1st and you can find out more information here. (You DO NOT need to be a member of PLC or even an attendee - anyone is welcome to take this class!) You can also go here to find a class near you.
Here it is - what you've all been waiting for! In 13 weeks, this is what we were able to do with our money:
Total put into Emergency Fund: $1000.00
Total put into Savings: $1500.00
Total Debt Paid Off (Since Feb. 1st, 2009) = $10,512.35
Now...... who is ready to sign up???? If you have any questions or need any advice, please e-mail or leave your comments!

ReplyDeleteHey..I was just curious, were you guys also able to save for college funds for the kids or is that a longer-term plan? Also what's the giving part include? Maybe I should just pick up that book!!!
